Online Education and the Challenge of Motivation

Getting an online education is both a very thrilling proposition and a challenging one as well. It is quite exciting to learn through a very new and non-traditional form of education and it offers a set of new challenges that would compel individuals to really immerse themselves in what they are doing.

Unfortunately, even with an educational format as new as online education, the same old problems that plague students would usually crop up. The most common difficulty a student encounters is losing the motivation to continue studying. This feeling is further exacerbated by the unique environment that a student must contend with in an online education course. Being alone with no real classmates to act as real-time sounding boards and given the free rein to handle your time it becomes a challenge to really get into the groove of studying. Since online education classes are a new education format, it also does not possess many of the known support systems that we can find inside a traditional school structure. These support systems are what helps keep students motivated. The lack of social interaction can also be a significant contributing factor for online education students easily losing the motivation to study.

Losing motivation is quite difficult because it could become difficult to stay focused on what needs to be done. Losing the impetus to study will make it very difficult to prepare for exams or tests, complete assignments and finish projects. Motivation is what drives a person to study through the boredom, the tedium and the difficulties. Without motivation, the whole purpose of taking online education classes loses meaning. It would be just so easy to quit and stop taking the classes at the risk of losing the tuition paid for the online classes.

For those who may be worried that they may lose their motivation, the good news is that it can be restored or reinforced. Below are some tips given by many education experts as a way of keeping motivated.

* One way to stay motivated is to identify a goal and work towards its attainment. Try to focus on small goals that can be easily fulfilled. You can mark off a calendar with daily and weekly goals that you are required to accomplish. As you fulfill each goal cross it out with a pen. This process helps you build up your pride in your accomplishments.

* Try to talk to other people about what you are learning in your online classes. This process is usually done with your classmates in a traditional school system but because of the nature of online education, you really do not have classmates in the traditional sense. What you can do is talk to family members and friends about what you have learned in your online classes. One other thing you can do is to try to arrange a chat with your instructor so that you can have some time to discuss the subjects and/or curriculum with him.

* Try to be active in forums related to your course or classes. Even though there are no real physical ways of meeting fellow students in an online course most educational institutions that offer online education provide chatrooms or forums where you can chat with other people taking the same courses. These chatrooms or forums provide ample opportunity for different kinds of interactions with fellow students. You can use it to get to know other students personally and if you find one that lives near you, then you can probably arrange to meet with them regularly to discuss your subjects. You can set up online study groups that other students who taking the same course can use.

If you are stuck in the past, you are not moving forward.

If you want to be financially secure, then why are you still working the 9-5 job that only pays you enough so you can’t afford to quit? If, you keep doing the same things you did in the past “A slave to the time clock”, you’re stuck in the past. Because you want to become financially secure! Ask yourself this question and then answer it with the truth. From the first job you had till now, Have you become financially secure? If you answered “NO”, then you are stuck in the past. You are not moving forward to becoming financially secure.

These days and times, there is no such thing as job security. If you keep punching the old time clock you will always have what you have now. NO FREEDOM, IN DEBT, LIVING JUST ABOVE THE POVERTY LEVEL. STRUGGLING FROM PAY CHECK TO PAY CHECK. That is your future if you don’t change your way of thinking and your actions.

What are you going to tell your children and grandchildren? Work hard for your money! Not me! I would rather tell my children and grandchildren that they would have a better chance at retiring financially secure by playing the lottery.

I would feel like I’m lying to them if I told them to work hard for their money, only to retire broke. Hey, if you haven’t achieved it yet, do you really think they will. Things will be a little tougher when they grow up. I think you already know this without being told.

The only way you or your children and grandchildren will ever become financially secure is to work for your self. There is no glory in becoming a slave to the time clock. It’s only a waste of precious time that you will never get back. Time frozen in the past.

OK HERE IS THE SOLUTION!

If you truly want to become financially secure, then start moving toward success. Stop putting off your future or you will arrive broke. I guarantee!!!

Take chances! Invest in your future! From my experience, I think the Internet holds the key to our future. WHY? You know that if you are going to become financially secure, you have to be selling something, RIGHT?

Ok, lets say you want to open your own gift ship. OK you apply for a loan, say %50,000. You purchase a building for $30,000. Now you have to buy insurance, say $200 a month, that comes to $24,000 a year. Now you have to buy merchandise to sell. Say $5,000 worth. Now you are open and ready for business.

Now, I’m going to give you another break. Say you have 1,000 people walk by your store. OK 600 drop in. 500 of them makes a purchase. Now that is your business for that day, and you go home after working from open to close, say 8 AM to 5 PM.

I don’t know about you, but that still sounds like a slave to the time clock at the expense of $50,000 dollars.

NOW HERE IS MY IDEAL BUSINESS!

I TURN ON MY COMPUTER, GET ME A CUP OF COFFEE, SEARCH THE internet for Home Business opportunities. I come across a great sounding Home Based Business. Hey, and for only $100. I can get my own website put together for me. And I will have 5 streams of income all from this one website. And all it cost me is $100 a month.

And one of the amazing things I like about it is. I don’t have to purchase any merchandise whatsoever. It’s all Here with the one website that I now own. Now my only one task that I have to do and do it aggressively is ADVERTISE the heck out of my website. Now don’t get me wrong, you will not become rich overnight. But with a lot of patience and steady advertising, I will become successful in time. But I can’t tell you enough. You have to be an aggressive advertiser. Get serious about your future, no one else will.

Take care of you and the rest will take care of itself. Stop looking back at your 9-5 job, only work it long enough till your income from your Home Based Business out produces your income from your 9-5 job. Then and then, tell your boss.

You have to start slowly and let go of your past. You can’t straddle the fence. Put as much effort into your new Internet Business as you did your 9-5 job. And in time, it will pay off. Never slack off and stop advertising your website. To make your Home Based Business pay off, you have to advertise it continuously.

Remember, you are in control of your future. If your business fails or if it is successful, you are to blame and no one else. And I will tell you the truth “the only way that your business will fail is if you quit”. PERIOD. It’s all up to you. How bad do you want to be financially secure? Don’t be a quitter, be a doer. A quitter never wins and a winner never quits.

FAILURE IS NOT AN OPTION!!!!!

Just make your dream happen. Stay focused.

Are You Looking to Buy Stocks?

Posted on September 10th, 2006. About Business.

Investing for the future is important if you ever plan to retire. One form of investment is buying stocks in corporations. Stocks represent a portion of a company, so when you buy stocks, you are essentially buying into the company. You can benefit from any profits it makes, but you can also lose money if the company’s performance, or the market as a whole, goes down.

When you look at investing in stocks, you may want to consult a financial advisor who works with stocks and mutual funds for a living. He or she will have knowledge of which stocks you should buy and which ones you should avoid. If you wish to choose the companies you will invest in, look for companies that are growing and offer some stability. Also, if sales in, say, electronics are very high, you may want to invest in a company that manufactures electronics. Take some time to research the stock market before you make your investment decisions.

Once you have decided on some stocks you would like to purchase, you’ll need to pay attention to what the market is doing. In order to benefit the most from your investments, you’ll need to time when you buy, and when you sell, your stocks. If you choose some stable companies and buy stocks in them while prices are low, because of the market or because of a period of time where the company is not bringing in large profits, it is most likely that your stocks will increase in value.

When you are looking to sell your stocks, it is good to set a price for yourself and decide that when your stocks reach that price, you will sell them. Often, people hang on to their stocks, wanting to get the most out of them that they can, and then the market drops and they lose money.

You can see that there is frequent decision making in the process of buying and selling stocks. If you are willing to put some time and effort into your investments, you will be pleased to see how much you will profit from your stocks.

What Does Success Mean to you?

Posted on September 9th, 2006. About Free Articles.

What does success mean to you? Ask 100 people what success means to them and you’ll probably get 100 different answers. But you could narrow down those responses to a few common elements. To most people material success, money and all the things that money can buy are the biggest external indicator of success.

To others success means gaining the admiration of others, achieving a position of leadership, in other words, social success.

Simply put you are a success when you are living the life you most want to live, and you’re doing it well. For one woman being a stay-at-home-mom and spending time molding the future generations is what she wants to do. And she pours her heart and soul into making her home a haven for her family, and tries her utmost to be the best mother and wife she can be.She is a success. For another woman, perhaps, success means being a best selling author who earns a six-figure income and whose name is instantly recognizable world-wide. Is one woman more successful than the other? Well the answer that you give would depend on what values you hold dear.

What does success mean to you? What is your definition of success? What yardstick would you use to measure success? Take a moment to write the answers to these questions down.

Success for you begins when you realize what you unique definition of success is, and you begin to take steps toward making that vision of success a reality.

For me success means living a balanced life. I want to be the best mother and wife I can be and at the same time I also want to be a successful internet entrepeneur. But it’s no good to me to earn a six-figure income, but be a terrible wife and mother.

When writing down your definition of success, beware of having overly high expectations. High expectations kill your chance of succeeding before you even get started.

When you look at your list of what you need to consider yourself a success, it might seem overwhelming. But even an elephant can be eaten one bite at a time. Break down your goals into small easily achievable steps and start stepping your way to success. A wise person once said “Success is 20% skills and 80% strategy.” You can achieve success by creating a well thought out plan and ensuring that each day you do something that moves you in the direction of your goals. Go for your goal!

Are Tracker Mortgages Worth It?

Tracker mortgages are one of the most common types of mortgage around, but they can be confusing if you are new to the mortgage world. Tracker mortgages have a number of benefits as well as dangers, and it pays to know about these before shopping around. If you are looking for a mortgage then here is some advice about tracker mortgages and if they are right for you:

What is a tracker mortgage?

A tracker mortgage is fairly similar to a normal variable rate mortgage, although the variations in interest are much quicker. A tracker mortgage follows the base rate of interest imposed by the Bank of England; any changes in the rate will be reflected in your mortgage payments. Whilst variable rate mortgages usually take months to change, tracker mortgages will change rates within 14 days of a new rate being announced. This means that you can more quickly benefit from any drops in the rate. The change is compulsory, and part of the contract of a tracker mortgage will state that the interest rate must change in accordance with the Bank of England within a certain timeframe.

What are the advantages?

The obvious advantage of a tracker mortgage is that if the interest rate drops, then your payments will drop within a few weeks of the change. This means your mortgage stays competitive and is always in line with the current market level. This mortgage is great for people who want their mortgage to reflect the changing costs of borrowing, but also don’t mind if their repayments fluctuate.

What are the problems?

The problem with a tracker mortgage is that if the interest rate rises, you will be left with higher payments almost straight away. If you are on a budget then higher payments could leave you in financial difficulty and unable to make your repayments.

Types of tracker

There are a number of types of tracker mortgage. The first type is the tracker mortgage that simply follows the base rate changes for the entire mortgage term. The second is one that runs with the base rate for a while before return to a standard variable rate, and the third is one that has a limit on how far the tracker rate can change. Finding the best type for you requires shopping around and looking at your circumstances in detail.

Who should get a tracker mortgage?

A tracker mortgage is good for people who can cope with fluctuations in payment, and so can afford to take the risk that the payments will rise in exchange for the chance that they will get lower. You should look at your financial situation rather than trying to predict the future interest rate. If you can afford higher payments at some point then you could benefit from low interest rates, and so pay less for your mortgage.

The Viable Alternative, And Most Beneficial Addition, To SEO

Posted on September 9th, 2006. About Affiliate Marketing, Internet Marketing.

Software Scripts Resources

Get the right scripts for business

S, E and O are probably the three most talked about letters on the Internet. That’s because search engines were, and still are, deemed to be the most important form of advertising there is. However, this theory has its inherent problems. Even websites that are set up (intentionally or naturally) perfectly to benefit from the algorithms dreamt up by Google and other major search engines will spend some considerable time wallowing very close to the bottom of the search piles. And that’s only once they’re indexed. In the case of Google, touted as being the most populous and therefore important of all search engines, you could be waiting many weeks or even months before you receive the traffic you deserve.

The reason for the popularity of SEO is simple. When search engines first existed and first introduced the complex algorithms that they use to determine the relevance and value of a site, SEO was essential. Without good on-page optimization, a site simply didn’t rank on the top pages of search results and when a site doesn’t attain those lofty heights it doesn’t get hit. But these were the days when cramming a page with useless content containing repetitive and uninformative keyword stuffed content would gain the top spot for a search term.

The search engines soon learned of these “underhand” methods and introduced new algorithms. These algorithms penalized sites guilty of keyword spamming, and the result was a wave of blackhat SEOs trying to find other ways to dupe the search engines. Those ways soon became evident. To cut a long story short, search engines have discovered and for the most part beaten the less than desirable SEO actions of cloaking, redirecting, link building using link farms, and many more.

Finally they are left with a delicately balanced list of websites that have just the right amount of links gained over an appropriate period of time containing content that includes the appropriate percentage of keywords (not too many and not too few). Bear in mind that these formulae are supposed to encourage natural content and it is clearly ironic that search engines use so many mathematical equations to calculate which sites pass their rigorous test.

The long and short of this rant about search engine algorithms is that one of the methods they use to combat undesirable websites is to monitor the number and quality of inbound links. In the case of Google, any new site that suddenly finds itself with hundreds or even thousands of new links is believed to be up to no good.

So, the Google Sandbox is born, meaning that websites have to go through a period of purgatory before they receive their proper ranking. Some claim this period is six weeks, some claim it’s more like six months, some claim that it doesn’t exist, and others claim that it’s all a conspiracy headed by the unified Governments of the world in order to prevent freedom of speech. Regardless of the real time period, or the paranoia levels of the SEO profession, it leaves websites with a huge gaping hole where they receive no traffic despite their very best efforts.

So, too the real reason for this article – a viable alternative (or should that be addition) to SEO. The single most important alternative to SEO is good quality content posted regularly both on your site and off it. This can be done through the website itself, a blog, a forum, an external article directory, or any other method. The more content you can produce and post to your site the better. Firstly, this actually complements your SEO efforts because it will give you a greater number of keywords in your text but it will also work in other ways.

The Internet is awash with websites. In fact, that’s kind of the point of the while thing. Most of these websites are linked to one another through other websites. The more links, the more visitors a page receives. In theory, the more visitors a page receives, the more links it will get and so the circle continues.

Good quality content posted on your site provides you with a greater possibility that those search engines that have indexed you will pick up on your pages and give you rankings. However, the big advantage comes from offering your visitors genuinely useful information. This useful information is what will persuade your visitors to keep visiting and also pass on the word about your site.

On the other hand, off page content will generate the visitors in the first place. By posting high quality articles to article directories, your site will soon make it onto the map. Websites, e-zines, and newsletters scour the pages of directories looking for valuable content to use. Because your article must be taken and used in its entirety, and because you had the good foresight to include a short paragraph about and a link to your own site you will get traffic. And so the circle begins. More traffic means more links. More links means more traffic. I’m sure you get the picture.

So top quality content is where the sensible money lies. By all means optimize the pages of your site but don’t sit around idly waiting for six years (or however long) until your site gets indexed. Instead, get networking. Post articles, join forums, post on blogs, and generally do what good marketing have been doing for years – sell yourself.
